On the morning of April 14, at Phenikaa University, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Huu Do attended and spoke at the launching ceremony of "ROBOTACON WRO World Robot Competition (World Robot Olympiad) 2023" with the opinion: The ROBOTACON WRO 2023 competition will strengthen and further develop the educational and training cooperation between Vietnam and Denmark in many aspects.

The Deputy Minister said: Towards building quality human resources for the future, the Ministry of Education and Training has issued a new general education program, starting from the 2020-2021 school year. The general education program encourages integrated teaching and officially includes mandatory content of experiential and problem exploration activities, practice activities and practice activities.

Sharing about the ROBOTACON WRO contest, Danish Ambassador Nicolai Prytz believes that the contest will be an interesting playground, contributing to training Vietnamese young people in necessary skills of the 21st century such as: Thinking critical thinking, teamwork, problem solving and technology mastery.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Huu Do also expressed his hope that through the ROBOTACON WRO playground, students will practice soft skills; thereby building a positive, friendly learning environment and developing creative, dynamic thinking and a sense of responsibility. All are motivating students to explore and learn science, computer skills, and programming through simple and intuitive programming software; especially skills in using technical tools through accompanying technical software.

In addition, with a focus on developing the quality and capacity of learners, the Ministry of Education and Training pays great attention to innovating teaching content, teaching methods and assessment, including STEM education ( Science - Technology - Engineering - Mathematics) plays a very important role. Currently, the Ministry of Education and Training has organized pilot implementation and mass implementation of STEM education at secondary level; Piloting STEM education at the primary level in 07 provinces/cities and achieving very positive results, the application of STEM teaching organization is spreading strongly to primary education establishments across the country. water.

Scale of the ROBOTACON WRO 2023 competition

ROBOTACON WRO is one of the most prestigious and large-scale competitions globally for teenagers from 6 to 19 years old. Here, students from all over the world can demonstrate their thinking capacity and problem-solving skills through robot competitions and challenges, as well as create projects.

Coming to the competition, children can experience and develop comprehensively

ROBOTACON WRO 2023 held in Vietnam will have 2 qualifiers: the Southern qualifier in Ho Chi Minh City with an expected 300 teams and the Northern qualifier in Hai Phong with an expected 200 teams. The final round will be held in August 2023 in Hanoi to find the best teams and contestants representing Vietnam to compete at the world finals in Panama.
