What does the Domino chess set include?
Before learning how to play Domino, you need to know the components in the chess set. In the chess set there are 28 dominoes. Each chess piece is a square rectangular block, divided in the middle to form 2 equal squares. On each side of the square there will be round or blank dots. The maximum number of dots on each side is 6 dots, each domino will include 1 pair of numbers, for example: 2:3, 4:5, 6:1,...
Rules of Domino game
There are 2 types of game rules for you to apply.
1. Rules for counting points
After the cards are played and no one can play a consecutive card, the person with the lowest total score wins.
The Bull (0:0) is equivalent to 13 points, avoiding the case of someone keeping this piece until the end as an advantage).
2. Point racing rules
Each person is given a target score (usually 100 or 200 points).
The next player must drop the domino so that the total score of the board is divisible by 5.
Whoever plays all the cards before reaching the target score is the winner. If multiple people reach the target score, the one with the lowest score wins.
Simple way to play Domino for beginners
Turn the dominoes face down and give each player 7 pieces so that no one sees the other person's pieces. If the number of players is less than 4, the remaining pieces will be placed separately and used for drawing when it is your turn and there are no valid pieces.
- First turn
- The person with the largest piece (6:6) will make the first move.
- If no one has the 6:6 piece, the person who owns the next Bull piece (5:5, 4:4,...) will go first.
- In the next games, the first player is the winner of the previous game.
- The first chess piece is placed in the middle of the players.
- Second round
- The next player to the left of the first player, in a counterclockwise direction, places a chess piece so that one end of this piece coincides with one end of the already placed piece.
- For example: If the first player places a 6:6, the second player must follow with a 6 on one end (eg 6:2, 6:4,...).
- If the previous player places a piece with an "empty" end, it can only be followed by another piece that also has an empty end. However, in some game rules, an empty cell can become a "free" cell, meaning it can be assigned any number. Chess pieces can be placed on the left or right side as desired.
- Next turns
- Players continue to take turns counterclockwise. If there are no suitable cards to move on:
- In a 4-player game, there are no cards left over at the initial deal. The player without a suitable card will lose their turn and pass the turn to the next person.
- In a game with less than 4 players, the player will draw 1 card from the remainder. If this piece is available, the player can place it immediately. If not, the card is added to the player's deck, and the turn passes to the next player.
